Ambassador of Japan Visits IHM

ISUZU HICOM Malaysia (IHM) had the great honour of welcoming the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to IHM on 30 September 2025.

During the visit, the Ambassador was warmly received by IHM’s management and was given an overview of the company’s operations and achievements. The visit also included a plant tour, where the Ambassador observed IHM’s manufacturing processes and continuous improvement activities aligned with Japanese principles. Following the visit, the Ambassador shared his positive impression on social media, stating: “They have been the top-selling truck brand in Malaysia for over a decade, creating many good local jobs in Pahang, offering the best transport solutions that will enhance delivery responsiveness and efficiency!”

The visit symbolized the strong ties between Malaysia and Japan, as well as the ongoing collaboration and exchange of knowledge between both nations.

8th ASEAN Kaizen Meeting

The 8th ASEAN Kaizen Meeting was successfully held on 28 & 29 August 2025 at Isuzu Hicom Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (IHM). 

Participants from Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), and Isuzu Vietnam Co Ltd (IVC), and Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI), in attendance of Isuzu Global CV Engineering Center Co. Ltd (IGCE) and Isuzu Motors Limited (IML) gathered to share best practices and improvement initiatives within the Isuzu Group, strengthening our collective culture of continuous improvement across the ASEAN region.

IHM CEO, Mr. Koshi Yamaguchi, as the host of this year’s meeting, delivered an inspiring message:

“The essence of Kaizen lies in SQDC—Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. By prioritizing employee safety and responding proactively to customer needs, we are able to expand our market share while continuously improving production. We hope that these Kaizen activities will continue to thrive, and that Isuzu Group companies across ASEAN will grow together through mutual learning and collaboration. Let us continue to challenge ourselves and grow together as one Isuzu family.”

Meanwhile, IHM General Manager of Production & Planning, En. Suhaimi, also shared his insights:

“This meeting is not only about sharing but also listening and learning. Having participants visit our plant gave us valuable insights on how to further improve our operations and ultimately grow together as one Isuzu family. The key to sustaining Kaizen is being able to clearly explain different initiatives to others. At IHM, Kaizen has transformed our culture—everyone now sees it as part of their daily work. What Kaizen means to me: it’s continuous improvement that never ends.”

The two-day event also included a plant tour of IHM operations, providing participants with the opportunity to see, share, and experience the actual processes behind our continuous improvement efforts.

IHM organized a tazkirah session on 13 August 2025 at Surau Al-Kausar, IHM, titled “Syariat & Professional Dalam Pekerjaan.” The session was attended by 150 employees from various departments and featured Al-Fadhil Ustaz Zul Ramli Bin Mohamed Razali as the guest speaker.

This meaningful session provided an opportunity for spiritual reflection and motivation, encouraging employees to align professionalism at work with Islamic values and principles.

100K Units Production Commercial Vehicle Celebration

On 8 August 2025, Isuzu Hicom Malaysia Sdn Bhd proudly celebrated achievements for 100,000 units production of CKD Isuzu N-Series Elf and F-Series Forward models. This is also a solid reaffirmation of our market leadership and brand significance in which Isuzu has been owning the top spot for overall commercial vehicle brand for 11 consecutive years and light-duty truck brand for 15 consecutive years in Malaysia market.

IHM began the local production of N-Series and F-Series models back in 2007. In that year, the company produced 3,362 unit of trucks and since then it has been steadily increasing its lead in the industry. Since 2007 till now, IHM had recorded its best two production years in 2022 with 7,417 units and 2023 with 7,334 units.

The total cumulative number of ISUZU trucks that have been produced and rolled out from IHM since 2007 up till the second quarter of 2025 stands at 101,733 units.

On 5 August 2025, IHM Management collaborated with the Surau Al-Kausar Committee to organize the preparation and distribution of bubur asyura. In the spirit of togetherness and community, IHM employees worked collectively to cook approximately 600 servings of bubur asyura. The delicious porridge was then distributed to all IHM staff and contract workers as a gesture of appreciation and unity during the meaningful occasion.

IHM Family Day 2025 – One Village, One Family

IHM Family Day was successfully held on 19 July 2025 at Resorts World Kijal, Kemaman. The theme for this year was ‘One village, One family’. 

IHM top management officially launched the event with a symbolic fish release into the sea. Committees has prepared various of activities, games and competitions, where each Rumah Sukan brought their best energy and team spirit. The day was filled with laughter, cheer and plenty of memorable moments for everyone.

To make the day even more meaningful, IHM also took the opportunity to recognize employees through Employee and Department Excellence Awards presented on stage. This year, two special Outstanding Achievement Awards were also given to employees for their remarkable contributions.

The event ended with a lucky draw, bringing extra joy and smiles to everyone who joined in making Family Day 2025 a truly memorable event — living up to its theme, One Village, One Family.

IHM organized a Fruits Fest on 10 July 2025 at the IHM Cafeteria. The event celebrated the abundance of seasonal fruits such as durian, mangosteen and rambutan encouraging employees to appreciate local fruits while enjoying a joyful break from their daily work routine.

On 25 April 2025, ISUZU HICOM Malaysia (IHM) in collaboration with Isuzu Sports & Welfare Club (KSKI) successfully organized hari raya celebration at the IHM Cafeteria. The event began in the afternoon, giving employees the opportunity to celebrate with colleagues and members of the management team.

IHM employees were encouraged to wear traditional raya attire to enhance the festive ambiance. IHM also invited representatives from local authorities and nearby DRB-HICOM group companies to join the raya celebration.

The event featured a wide variety of popular raya dishes such as laksa pahang, satay, rendang, lemang, and more to embrace a food stall concept. One of the event highlights was the departmental food stall decoration competition, where every department showcased their creativity to compete for the “Best Stall” title. In addition, KSKI organized a series of fun activities including karaoke, ketupat weaving competition, and best-dressed contest, adding excitement and engagement to the celebration.
