CEO MESSAGE
Isuzu is the oldest automobile manufacturing company in Japan, with a history of over 100 years since its foundation, and here in Malaysia, it has a history of vehicle manufacturing spanning more than 35 years. Isuzu has always responded to the demands of the times. I believe that the fact that Isuzu continues to be chosen by many customers both globally and here in Malaysia is evidence of its quality.
However, we are not content with this alone; we are determined to continue advancing without complacency. We firmly believe that Malaysia will continue to experience rapid growth in the coming years. Isuzu Hicom Malaysia is committed to leading in the commercial vehicle sector, placing utmost importance on environmental conservation and striving for growth in partnership with our customers.
Looking ahead, the automotive sector in Malaysia, particularly, will demand even greater attention to environmental and safety aspects than before. From the standpoint of sustainable management, environmental consideration and carbon-neutral initiatives are essential. Concurrently, customer expectations now extend beyond Malaysia’s borders, seeking global performance and quality. We intend to earnestly address these challenges and actively promote sustainable initiatives such as the adoption of renewable energy and emission reduction measures.
Amid Malaysia’s growing landscape, our challenge is not only providing what our customers need promptly and reliably, but also minimizing environmental impact and contributing to a carbon-neutral future. Commercial vehicles play a crucial role in transporting diverse goods, supporting our lives, and becoming indispensable. Isuzu Hicom Malaysia carries the mission of “Creating Better Future for Malaysia’s Transportations” and is actively working towards realizing a sustainable vision.

SUSTAINABILITY
Isuzu Hicom Malaysia (IHM) understand the significance of protecting the natural environment and maintaining biodiversity, as such, we strive to create sustainable products through sustainable resources and business practices. We undertake continuous measures to lessen environmental burdens, for instance through intergrating renewable energy such as solar for a cleaner and efficient electricity system and performance-monitoring of our industrial effluent treatment system which is a proactive procedure against harmful pollutants in generated wastewater. 5S, a popular methodology based on the Japanese words for sort (Seiri), set in order (Seiton), shine (Seiso), standardize (Seiketsu), and sustain (Shitsuke), is also adopted at IHM in fostering productivity. Above all, creating a healthy and safe working environment for all employees is always at the forefront of our thought, in line with our doctrine on safety.
At IHM, we believe nothing is more important than giving back to the communities in which we serve and operate. Responding aptly to local needs and circumstances, we have and will continue to provide management training programs for undergraduate internship placements, educational talks to college or university students, plant visits for exposure to the automotive industry, as well as financial assistance to the underprivileged public or our own employees in times of adversity such as facing chronic illnesses or natural disasters. We are always looking for opportunities to make an impactful contribution to the causes and communities that are meaningful. As an organization, we encourage skills enrichment of our employees via securing wide and diverse training programs locally, as well as internationally where selected candidates are given the opportunity to embark on a Technical Intern Training Program in Japan or other learning exchange at ISUZU-associated companies in ASEAN countries.
As part of governance framework, the distinct board of directors of IHM nominated by our shareholders DRB-HICOM and ISUZU will convene on a quarterly basis for decision-making about the direction of the company. At the management level, our effective management members are always actively involved in risk management as well as compliance processes. These keypersons steer our enterprise in mitigating various economic challenges and technological advances that may pose undesirable impacts in the time of rapid changes. When it comes to transparency, a core concept in trust- and relationship-building, there is a strong sense of commitment within us to uphold transparency to all of our stakeholders.
