On 14 February 2026, ISUZU HICOM Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (IHM) successfully organised Tree Planting Programme 2026 at Pantai Saujana Biru, Pekan, as part of company’s ongoing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts and carbon offset initiatives. The programmed aimed to support environmental sustainability through coastal tree planting, helping to protect the shoreline, and promote long-term carbon absorption.

During the programme, a total of 100 coastal trees, specifically Rhu Pantai (Casuarina equisetifolia), were planted. This initiative is estimated to contribute approximately 2.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) absorption annualy, while also contributing to the stability of the coastal ecosystem in the Pekan area.

The programme was attended by around 60 participants, including IHM top management, employees and representatives from Majlis Perbandaran Pekan (MPPBDR). The collaboration with MPPBDR played a key role in ensuring the success of the programme, particularly in terms of site preparation, technical guidance and on-site coordination.

The programme began with a safety briefing by the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Department, followed by a tree planting demonstration conducted by MPPBDR. The ceremonial planting session was led by IHM’s top management, with employees actively taking part in group planting activities. The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to MPPBDR, followed by a lucky draw session and the distribution of food packs. This initiative marks an important milestone as IHM’s first structured tree planting programme and reflects the company’s continued efforts in integrating ESG principles into its operation.
